Harbourside Training

Harbourside Training is a not-for-profit organisation that provides subsidised training courses for voluntary and community organisations. It enables groups in Fareham, Gosport & Havant to access local, high quality training at a reasonable cost. Its aim is to promote best practice and to enable staff and volunteers to become more competent in their roles.

Topics for training include:

  • First Aid, MiDAS Driving Certificate, Committee Skills, Fundamentals of Food Hygiene, Data Protection, Customer Service, Web Writing, Grant Funding, Attracting Volunteers, IT for Beginners, Child Protection, Promoting your Organisation, Time Management, Health & Safety, Working in Partnerships, Presentation Skills, Using the Media, Keeping Volunteers, Introduction to Youth Work & Fundraising.

All Harbourside training sessions are delivered in accordance with the RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement in Non-Accredited Learning) 5 stage process which is the Learning and Skills Council national quality standard for non-accredited learning.

The cost of courses is kept low so that community groups can attend; there is a significant subsidy. Course fees are usually £20 for a half day and £50 for a full day course to community organisations. We invite partner organisations at £50 (half day) and £90 (full day). However the cost of some certificated courses has to be higher.

For more information on any of these training courses, please contact Karen Sanders, Training Co-ordinator for booking or further assistance at: training@farehamaction.org.uk or phone 01329 223145 or visit the Harbourside Training Website.
